I need a creative way to color a map.?
It is a map of East Africa. It can be anything but 3D. I've made ones on the computer and I've colored them by hand.
People have colored each country with the country's map inside, tye dye, and with trade routes.
Its a contest so I need the best idea and it cant take more than a couple hours because I need to finish it tonight!
you've waited too long ;-/
you could've embroidered it on fabric - cross-stitch or any combination of stitches.
if possible, why not do the outlines on machine - use thickish & contrast thread to sew. once you've done all the stitching, including any details you like, cover the major portions with fabric plaint.
you could do this in 2 ways - the normal political map or an overlapping geopolitical map.
do the political demarcations in machine sewing [or hand-tacking if you find that quicker] & the geographical landscaping in fabric paints. you will have both in one !!
or cut out each country in different color paper/fabric & glue together to get the larger regional map. add any details like the major trade/occupation or demographics, etc. in diff color-coding or using stickers.
ADDITION : here's another thought -- why not make it black-n-white only or monochromatic? use shading to bring out the features & demarcations.
